My head is swelling big... very big coz i am proud to get MuFFin's behaviour improved with guests around. My head is swelling even bigger coz i see how my immediate presence was able to stop her from barking at guests but his parents can't. They were trying to do what i did. Even though she needed to be confine away from the guest but in an area where she could watch them, being able to keep her calm was an achievement. My biggest achievement with her!
I was secretly smirking when his mum got frustrated and his dad gave up all the treats in his hand to me when i arrived. My bad i know but it just highlighted my bond with my dogter. I was quite taken aback when his mum actually said they wanted us to leave the dog behind when we moved. Claiming on the fact that they took more care of her. No doubt that was the truth, but they don't understand my dogter!!
The below may sound psychic. When i'm nervous/ excited, my girl feels it. When she got nervous and i'm not calm enough, i will get influenced by her. During the insane barking towards guest, believed it or not, i don't scream at her. Dogs have much better hearing than we humans. Why should i be screaming at her? His parents when get frustrated would either raise their hands or scream at MuF. I don't like that. Although it's hard to remain calm during her vigorous barks, i would try to remove her from the source to focus on me. I realised the more impatient i get, the worse she gets.
I'm just tremendously happy about her proud improvements la. I just wanna showed off how well i understand my dogter. And how understanding your dog make her feel secure with you. I learnt all these through reading books like "Beyond Obedience" and "At the other end of the leash". It really helped. Oh, consistency is always the key to success too!
I am just a proud parent, raving on the first step my dogter made! You guys have no idea how hard i tried! I think Yida also cannot understand my excitement!
