The good thing about not following tour group was that you can get to sleep till your desired wake up time. Haha.

We slept till 8am before getting ready for our adventure in Day 1. The sun was already sorching.

This is our first destination of the day. Cabrillo National Monument Park. It was an eleven minutes drive. I need to rave about the use of GPS in oversea! We never got lost!!

We stopped at the first carpark on the way up the park.

There were more carpark lots further down the park.

My idea of park was like in Singapore's ECP and Pasir Ris park. So i was never keen to go to the parks in San Diego. But i was so wrong!!

I would miss scenic view like this!

And the vast view of Pacific ocean!!!!!!!! I never tot i could see it in my life!!!! Yes, i'm mountain tortoise going out so far from Sg for the first time.

There was a trail up to this 'Military History Muesum". Never did i know that there were coastal defenses which served as a Fort to protect approaches to San Diego Bay during the two world wars.

The museum was just a small hut.

I believed this was the map of the coast or something.

Their then binoculars...... Haha During the world war time, a soldier saw something black surfacing from the water which was shooting bullets. The higher rank officer took over the binoculars and scolded him for not knowing that was whales. Haha! However, i didn't manage to see any wild whales in that beautiful ocean.

I think this was a bomb.. haha.. (sorry!)

We made our way to Point Loma shortly after. Old Point Loma Lighthouse was important in the olden days. Without it, many ships and boats will crash into the bay of San Diego.

The weather was sorching but as long as you sat under the shade for a while, you are as gd as in aircon.

I tot this catus looked interesting. It was along the trail up to Point Loma.

This was the entrance of the Lighthouse.

Here's a little description. Read if you can.

If you think the light house was a big luxurious kind of accomodation then you are wrong. This was the size of their master bedroom!

Their kids' room. It was really a very squeezy place. They had a play room but i didn't took the pic.

If you keep going up the spiral stairs, you will come to a dead end.

Tourists weren't allowed to be up.

But this was how it looked like from there. According to the displays, life was boring then.

They grew their own veggies.

The Harbour Lights. It was another part Point Loma where they displayed the lights mechanism from the light house.

There were 3 bulbs in diff material of casing. Forgot which one was the best to illuminate the room. Haha

The keeper of the lighthouse and his wife. The figure looked so real. Think they were made of wax.

The prism that kept the light from the lighthouse prominent.

We went on for some history lesson about Cabrillo, the guy who found this place. And i think this was his resting place.

A spot on the cliff(?) caught our eyes. So we decided to bravely stand near the edge. =x Yea, i was the chicken. Haha No, the spot where he was standing was not the most scary one. It was the one behind him!!

This was the HIGHEST point (as far as i know) of the park beside the light house!!!!!!! After this pic, i told yida i would go over first then he come stand at the position. I was really scare standing there la. So i eagerly wanted to get off that spot. Yida kept coming over to prevent me from leaving that spot. But i SCARED!!!! Idiot..... Then he knelt down..... Fumbled with the ring so that the solitare faced upwards.... and asked " Will you marry me?" Haha.... now tot of his face i wanna laugh... =) Like i said in the previous entry, he wanted to wear on the wrong hand after i agreed to his proposal

May i present you my Fiance fr 4 Dec 08. I asked him why he proposed here? He said he couldn't decide where to propose and since i was so excited upon seeing the Pacific Ocean, he decided that this should be the place.
