Day 1:

The above two medicine was prescribed to Bluie. A 0.05ml of the small bottle (antibiotics) and 0.1ml of the taller bottle (antibiotics nutrition) were to given twice a day to the fid.

Bluie is very tame. You could just grab her like that and she wun struggle at all. Handfeeding was really stressful for me and Bluie on the first day. It was as if i were feeding her poision.

I was taught by the vet to feed her this way, tilting her more vertically but seriously i dun like that position. I only have one hand to control my syringe not the best way.

Although you could grab her in any way, but during handfeeding she would chew the towel and even finger to escape. The above is an evolved way of my current handfeeding. It was at the right position of how a bird should stand and i dun have to worry about her being choke. I didn't manage to get the handfeeding formula on the first day so i used the papaya cum banana with aloe vera formula once.
Day 2: Ben was kind enough to grab the packet of handfeeding formula for me on the first day but it was too rush for me to retrieve it. So i headed straight to TB to meet him up.

This small packet costed me 7 bucks and apparently Bluie didn't like it. After one little pump, she would chew the towel to remove the formula and also clean her beak vigourously if she managed to struggle free. It was the same reaction Twinkle has for handfeeding formula. BUt i still continue for the next few days. Sadly, i always find puke residue in the hospital cage the next day. They looked like the handfeedng formula.
Day 3, 4, 5: Bluie has no improvement at all. She could fly from the hospital cage to her cage, could eat and drink but still sleepy at times. She looked fine one moment but not the next. It kinda weird and i am dubious over her recovery. So i made a call to Dr Tong this morning. Told him about the vomiting part. He was very concerned and said could be PDD which had no cure. The bird would just lose weight and die. He recommended me to hospitalise the bird which i hesitated. Anyway, he can only give that much advice coz he can't see the bird's condition. Yida and me decided to make a trip down again since he could be working the next weekend. Bluie's weight was taken. 74g. It was lighter than 5 days again despite my handfeeding. We were pretty worried. I told Dr Tong that i doubt it's PDD. If it really was, then Bluie would be vomitting like Twinkle. I sweared Twinkle looked more having that disease than Bluie. He suggested an injection or hospitalization. The former is something we refused to do coz the stress level would be that HIGH. The latter was too expensive - a day cost $20, each feeding with crop tube cost $15 X 3 coz it is needed 3 times a day. I prefered Bluie under my own care, at least if anything happen i won't blame myself for throwing her to someone else.
After today's vet consultation, Bluie was given an additional steriod med for anti-inflammation. Dr Tong actually suggested that i go for a second opinion. On the way back, we were discussing how we managed to pull Twinkle through and what we actually did. Oh, and only today that i realised the antibiotics given to Bluie was tetracycline which i think it's not good enough. So i am taking a risk now. I am going to change the antibiotics to wat Twinkle had the other time, deoxycycline. It is a paste which means i will have greater difficulty in feeding. However, i guess Bluie had somehow accustomed to handfeeding by me liao. So when i fed the paste just now, it was relatively easy. Another thing i am changing is i am going to stop handfeeding with the formula. From today on, she will be on the papaya cum banana and aloe vera mix. I am going to do everything i did for Twinkle to Bluie from now on. If 5 days after the deoxycycline treatment has no improvement then i will give the steriods med. When i was giving the papaya mix thingy just now, i could see that she was taking it much better than the formula. So i guess it's better this way. Banana will have enough carbs to keep it full for now.
I am going to observe for any vomitting on the papaya mix thingy. Hope everything goes well.

Bluie on Day 3. She definitely looked well in this pic but like i mentioned. It was one min good on min bad.
