After so many days at his place, bz with Bluie and MuFFin, i went home last night. Suay enough this morning his mum called to inform him that Bluie puke again. Vomitant found on the wall, looking listless and not eating liao. It was shit for me sia! Today Yida is on DO and i can't take any leave coz i have none left! Luckily, Yida still made an effort to rush with me to take Bluie to vet.
I sneakily went out of the office at 1145am, hop onto his car, and headed back to his place. Reached house like ~1215pm.
Check on Bluie- found puke again, looked listless, food untouched.
Hastily got the carrier ready- throw in centrifuge tubes with hot water to keep her warm
Rush to the car while Yida go grab baos for lunch.
On the ride to Dr Tong's clinic, i fed him the baos while he drove.
He dropped me at the block.
I rushed to the clinic and waited for 20 mins.
Dr Tong is a very nice vet and the consultation is really long.
A summary of the visit is as below:
1) He gave a 60% survival rate
2) There were overgrown bacteria in the poo but no yeast found
3) There were some discharge in the inside of the mouth (forgot what's that part called.)
4) Bluie is only 76g! (Severely underweight.)
5) Prescribed two kinds of Antibiotics
I got to scratch her head while she was held by Dr Tong. To my horror, around ten feathers dropped off!! Gosh......... It was that malnutrition?? I got Dr Tong to feed the first dose of antibiotics. Not that i dunno how to handfeed. It just that i dunno how to handle a bird who haven't give me trust yet. Anyway, i learnt what i've need to. He actually gave me a jar container to put water in the hospital cage since i didn't have any. So nice!
I ran out to the main road to catch a cab back to Yida's place. I vigourously tore toilet paper into pieces to lay the hospital cage. Casually fed aloe vera mixed with smash papaya to Bluie. It was only a little. Put him back to hospital cage. Place the towel and lamp right and off i rushed back to work. It was an illegal 2 hrs plus lunch without food.
I hope Bluie will recover. She is such a gentle bird.
