I met up with Yida's friend for bbq at lakeside the other. The newly weds brought along their dogs, a 2 years old (i think) schnauzer cross King Charles, CoCo, and a 3 month old King Charles puppy. It was a great meet up for Yida and friends! And thanks to Yida's Dad, we've got a free ride to our destination.

The 3 months old KC, Brownie.
I know everyone has their own ways of keeping a dog. It's their dogs afterall but this is my blog, so i am going to input whatever my thoughts are. The dogs, including the pup, were fed with bbq chicken wings which i think was relatively ok if in moderation. Remember sometime back, we went to their house for steamboat, they fed Coco (only have CoCo then) with hotdogs and all sorts from the dining table. He vomited after that, either due to jumping around or eating too fast. I didn't keep any dog then, hence, i should keep my mouth shut. CoCo is considered a well behaved dog afterall and i like him! Brownie is still a pup, with a skull that is not closed and teeth not fully grown. Comparatively, it doesn't seem like 3 months old when MuFFIn was. Anyway, we were carassing Brownie and found a small spot on the belly. This spot resembles MuFFin's hernia. It is a small one for sure. Whenever i pushed that lump, it will go into the abdomen. I alerted Yida and asked him if he felt the same. Being concerned, Yida went to inform the couple.
Yida has always been the joke of the group where everyone just keep suaning him. Well, i am pretty impressed he felt nothing at all. So when the mummy of the dogs said," Wah Yida, you study vet science ar? HOw come i keep dogs for ten over year i dunno got such things?" I immediately felt splinters heading for Yida. Of coz i kept quiet, their dogs afterall. And whether it was a sarcasm or a mere unintentional comment, only she knew.
You know, dogs owners like any parrot owners would like discuss about their dogs. Since they are having a male and a female dogs, i asked if they are planning to neuter one of them as i roughly mentioned MuFFin is going for hers soon. She said no, it was too cruel to do that. I asked what if they mate? Even she intend to breed them, the bitch has to be at least 2 years old. My guess was she didn't know the bitch need to be two years old. She paused awhile when i mentioned the age and say puppies are ok ma... keep or give ppl lo. Hmm... I told my friend about her replies to sterilisation, she causually gave a comment which i find it really funny. "Ask the husband dun wear condoms, tell her it's cruel too! And let her have babies again and again and again!"
We all know how hard it was to have A baby. CAn you imagine the poor bitch having so many? It's painful you know? People asked me why i dun wan to let MuFFin to be a real woman and why i wan to let her die of a virgin body? Reasons are really simple. FIrst, i dun wan to let my dog to suffer something that the HUMANS want. Yes, it's their instinct to breed and all but they breed to propagate, just to multiply. Second, do you think they know about bad genetics, hereditary disease? They don't! Dogs with hernia should not be breed. Bitches with short body should not be breed, the pups will be too cramp up. Dogs with bad temperment should not be breed too. Third, we, as their owners, knowing their 'unique' problems, have to be responsible to the future of their offsprings. We need to know what kind of homes we are giving the pups. Will you feel good if you happen to know that one of your pups has been abused by some sicko? That's really one concern of mine. Fourth, we have ONLY hear about the joys of pups. Have you hear any mishaps during birth? Let me show you some instances.

ToaPayohVetsI never say sterilisation is painless nor there is no dangers attached. There are, and i'm worried. But i think it's for her own good.
