As you all know, my Yida surprised me with a pair of boots for our first year anniversary. Now it's my turn to surprise him! Haha... He sternly warn me not to buy him anything expensive then say he just need me to be there on the day itself. How sweet is that!
Cracking my brain.... How to get something nice yet cheap? Can.... Use your hands and do lo! So i thought doing mosaic pictures taken for the whole of a year. Happily, i went to find all the pictures i like. Only manage to select 20 over pictures. Being greedy, i chose the A3 size and started my work enthusiastically! Halfway, my brother came in and said, "So big! You wanna die ar, now what time liao?" It was 1130pm when commenced my masterpiece.
Heeding my brother's advice, it was reduced to A4 size. Yeah, i am still greedy!! Twenty over photos were meticulously arranged so as each lay besides each other nicely. When i am done with the last piece, the layout was only 1/6 done!! Geeeezzzzz...... So i search my WHOLE hard disk for more and more pictures!! There were pictures la, just that most of them i don't look pretty so i omitted but my dear look handsome in all. So i was the limiting factor haha. Given no choice, i took them as well as some of those with funny expressions.
Layer by layer, using photoshop. My whole night went clicking away. *click click click* It was 99% done up at 3am except that there are small spaces in between!! You know la, pictures of different sizes with different position of the subject will never fit nice with so many other pictures. So i had to get those really bad pictures taken from hp and shrink it to like minute size. These were then used to cover up those small little spaces. Being extremely greedy, i save it under 300pixels/inch or something like to get best best resolution. Haha.... Bo bian... perfectionist.
I don't remember how many pictures i put. But i vaguely remember that were over 80 layers o_O Here! My masterpiece:

Yeah, i am shocked we have so many pictures!
Nice?? Haha, sorry i have to make it big, if not not all pictures can be seen. Heehee
I went to develop my photo the very next day and was told that my size wasn't correct for an A4. How can that be? The ratio of length to width should be 4:3 while mine was 3:2. *BooHoo* Then she said will have white space at the side of the pictures. Upon hearing it, my spirit sank low. =( The photo was to be collected half a day later. While working, i have been pondering and decide to redo it if it wasn't good enough. On collection, to my surprise, it wasn't as bad as i though it would be especially one of my photography friend said over ten photos were too dark! Phew~~ Not many shops sell A4 size photoframe and this is the freaking consequences of me being greedy!! Argh, luckily that shop i develop the pic has! I only have two designs to choose from. Both designs were....ahem..... Seriously, i wanted to custom made but due to time constraint. I have lesson on thurs, friday and saturday, so i wanted things to be finished by wed. Of course, i bought the nicer one, way cheaper than the custom made frame price. It was real plain.
I went to Artfriend and buy 3 paint markers to write on the wooden frame. Anxiously, i started the writing once i reached home. It's not easy job ok. I'm a little bit perfectionistic, i wanted things to align nicely in the center and the writings should be proportional to each side. I did the cross stitch style to count the alphabets and spaces so as to start in the middle. And the rest were work out from there! So scary sia! I only have one chance to do it!
So this is my final personalized photoframe:

It's hard to take a picture coz of the reflections. So just focus on the frames ya.
Hunting for the box is problematic coz there isn't much place which sell a box that is A3 size! See la!! Being greedy! =( I went Kalms, Artfriend, search the top level of Taka but in vain. So i went into Taka departmental store. Heng enough, there is just one box which fit my frame! *pat pat chest n let out a relieve*
Anyway, here's the whole package!!
