4 more days and this little mischievious conure will be with me for 6 months.
If you guys can remember, when she first came, i had LOADS of problem with her.
First, she had a mite problem. I was so worried that it will spread to my previous Twinkle and my mummy don't allow me to put it elsewhere except my room. Having not much choice, i put it under the table where Twinkle is on the table.
Due to the location i guess, she was really very nippy. Bite me ferociously a few times and it was hard to get her down from the cage top. She was much sweeter at the bird shop, kept asking for head scratch, that's why i bought her.
Oh, the cage I used was Twinkle's old cage. Although the bird shop uncle says it's alright to house my Dating, obviously it was too small coz the tail kept coming out through the bars. Two huge mistake i made when i had her! Location and size of cage! =(
The old cage was kind of handy coz it just happen that i housed her with that till the mite problem is gone. Still remembered the days when i have to spray her. The high ethanol content made her so cold and sleepy. Poor thing.
After mite problem gone, i went to GW and bought a igger cage for her. Twinkle's cage is still bigger though but that's the best available one. I don't wan to coop her up too long in the small cage and in case there was residual mites in it. THanks to David who helped me to fetch the cage home! Phew~~
The behaviour problem was a handful for me too. I'm too used to my extremely tamed Twinkle who don't even need much scolding! He could just sit on my shoulder and watch what i am doing. Nipping was the no. 1 problem!!! Well, i came out with my own punishment method and it worked. Haha
Now, this lil girl is a wonderful sticky bird. She cannot stand me having anything else except her! Not even Twinkle. Maybe that's why Twinkle betrayed me for Yida. =( Think Dating and Twinkle will never be good friends ever. She's more responsive towards "come here" than Twinkle. She literally run to me when i say that!! Her gibberish and clownlike behavious really make me laugh big time! And her gluttony!!! Haha
Just hope that Dating will be friendlier to Twinkle with time.
