I have been doing everything for myself alone...
Fixing my computer,
Solving the virus infection,
Bring my pet to vet,
Buying present.
Today i'm not alone..
My Yida still came all the way down from NTU to bring DaTing to vet
He insisted that they are our babies and there's v little he could do
Before going to the vet visit,
we spring cleaned DaTing cage with Dettol diluted water, then clean water and sun it.
Good thing today has strong sun rays.
For once, someone helped me clean cages.
Of the two years with Twinkle, no one did.
Thanks to my uncle, we had a lorry.
We put the birds into their respective carriers and there we go on our journey to GoodWill.
For once, i trusted Twinkle in someone's care.
I never trusted anyone with Twinkle.
Even during outings, my eyes will follow whoever carrying Twinkle.
But today, i let Twinkle be under Yida's care coz i dun wan to cross handle them.
The vet saw DaTing, turned him around showing her underside of the tail.
GOSH!! We could see small tiny thingy crawling along the shaft of the tail feathers.
*CREEPs*
Dr Hsu told us, these parasites loved dark so they usu hide at the underside.
I asked if identifying the mites will be better and that Twinkle should be given a check?
He said it makes no difference if you wanna kill them and i should spray Twinkle as well.
You can't be too sure of those creepy crawlers.
He recommended the spray, Vetafarm Avian Insect Liquidator, which i already bought it at Goodwill according to Koh's advise.
During the consultation, i'm like that's all?
He's like dun have to worry, it's a common problem and DaTing looked healthy.
Ok... i was giving Yida the look that i shouldn't have brought DaTing to vet... seem quite useless. What he said i already know.
Well, u all know me. I'm well known 'paranoid to the max'. Can't blame me, it's a life we are handling you know?
To my surprise, Dr Hsu didn't charge me at all!! Must be my previous two trips for twinkle... all false alarm...lol.. Thanks doctor! Well, i have a good peace of mind now.
Upon reaching home, the killing begun.
Poor DaTing was in the box for the whole afternoon, now she has to suffer with the spray..
First thing we spray is the tail.
I hold, Yida spray.
*pissss pisssss*
Open wings, spray underwings
*pissss pissss*
Then the nape
then the back
then the abdomen
Poor DaTing is all wet now.
Now the show begins, all the 'white flakes' started moving out to the surface....
eeeeeksss... really!!
You could see the tail as well.. clearly
For the first 30 mins, she was real itchy.
Kept preening, rubbing and all.
Meanwhile, we spray her cage.
The crevices, hooks, perches, toys, everything.
Fix the cage and we went to Twinkle.
This Twinkle really hate the way the spray bottle looked.
One look he knows it's bathing!! He ran for his life.. have to really pin him down to spray.
Of coz he did not require the same dosage DaTing needs.
Oh Twinkle is really pissed with us.. LOL...
We did the same thing to Twinkle's cage too.
Spring cleaning done!
Bathed and took nap... real tired!!
Yida returns to his hostel after dinner while i scrutinize DaTing's feathers again.
Geez, most are not moving except for some.
Quite disheartening though... *cross my fingers again*
Today is really a day of me, yida and our babies!
So nice of him...
So unlonely i am today!
Thanks again dear for coming!!
